Ryan Moran-Asalone lives in Blacksburg and has been practicing law since 2017. He graduated from Christopher Newport University and the University of Richmond School of Law with a passion for trial work and criminal defense.
Ryan is an experienced criminal defense attorney which comes from five and a half years working as a Public Defender in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia, most recently as a Deputy Public Defender in Portsmouth. Ryan has argued more than thirty jury trials ranging from simple Domestic Assault and Battery cases to high-profile Robberies, Murders, and life-mandatory Sexual Assault Felonies. Ryan is also certified by the Virginia Indigent Defense Commission to represent juvenile clients. Whether it is a criminal or family law matter, Ryan is a zealous advocate in the courtroom and a warm and welcoming counsel to his clients.
When he is not working, Ryan volunteers with the Virginia Law-Related Education Institute as Vice Chair on the board overseeing state-wide high school mock trial competitions to pass his passions for trial advocacy to the next generation. Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife going on adventures hiking, climbing, and camping in the beautiful places Southwest Virginia has to offer.
